About the Editor

Hello, I’m Chris Henderson-Bauer. I have been editing fiction and narrative nonfiction since 2009, and I spent a decade editing legal documents, articles, and books. I love stories of all sorts, and I specialize in fantasy, science fiction, and consensual romance.

As a writer myself, I understand how it feels to open a story up to criticism from a stranger. I strive to be honest, clear, and kind in my editing. Because authors often struggle to see their own strengths, I make sure to note what is working in a manuscript before I dig into what still needs work. I suggest solutions for the problems I identify, and I work with authors to create practical plans for moving their manuscripts forward.

I have been privileged to watch many beginning writers grow into experienced, successful authors. Whatever your level of skill is, I would be happy to help you improve your writing and achieve your goals for your stories.
